Activities To Do With Your Children This Season

Nashville has become a hot spot for many families during the past few years with lots of fun things to do. The holidays offer so many special activities for you and your family! Here are a few of those special events in Nashville for you to enjoy!

Ice! At Opryland Hotel

This event is great fun for parents and children, together. Every year, the Opryland Hotel has a themed exhibit featuring over two million pounds of colorful Ice Sculptures, hand carved by 40 artisans from China! This year’s theme is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Don’t worry about getting too cold because of the chilly 9-degree temp inside the exhibit. Upon entering, they provide each person with an insulated, hooded jacket. You will be so glad they did!

Since you are already on the property, be sure to plan a walk around the spectacular Gaylord Opryland Hotel and experience the lavish holiday displays inside and outside the hotel. Can you imagine? There are more than 2 million twinkling lights and festive décor. There are also numerous spectacular holiday events going inside the hotel, so be sure to enjoy those, as well.

Outdoor Ice Skating Downtown

Nothing prepares you for a winter wonderland like bundling up and going ice skating, right? Nashville has a fabulous outdoor ice skating rink in the heart of downtown, conveniently located right outside of Bridgestone Arena. You will find countless things to see and do while you are downtown! Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride….one of my favorites!

The Nashville Ballet’s presentation of The Nutcracker

This is always the highlight of the season for many of us! So many young, aspiring ballerinas fill the audience with big, star-struck eyes dreaming of one day being “one of those ballerinas”. The performances are held at Tennessee Performing Arts Center and are scheduled through December 23!  This holiday classic is beautiful year, after year, after year! You won’t want to miss it!

Bake Cookies

No matter how big or how small your children are, they will most likely love to either help bake, help eat holiday cookies, or a little of both! Baking cookies with Grandmother has always been a special treat for many little girls, and boys too!   Many who love to bake still use the “secret recipe” their grandmother taught them years ago, and the tradition carries on and on!

We’ve mentioned several options; which activity are you most likely to choose? Perhaps you just want a date night without the little ones.   That’s okay too! Family Care Connection can provide you with thoroughly screened, background checked, and highly trustworthy Nannies and Childcare Professionals. We would love to help you. Have a wonderful Holiday Season, make memories and enjoy your family!
